The Sony E 55–210mm F4.5–6.3 OSS is a compact telephoto zoom lens designed for Sony APS-C E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its versatile 55–210mm focal range delivers an 82.5–315mm full-frame equivalent field of view, providing the reach needed for wildlife, sports, travel, outdoor events, portraits, landscapes, and distant subjects.
Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation helps reduce camera shake when shooting handheld at longer focal lengths or in lower light. Quiet and responsive autofocus supports both photography and video, while the internal focusing system maintains a compact design and enables smooth, reliable focusing without rotating the front filter thread.
ED and aspherical optical elements help minimise colour fringing and distortion while maintaining strong contrast, resolution, and natural colour reproduction. Weighing approximately 345g and featuring an aluminium-alloy exterior finish, the lens provides a practical balance of telephoto reach, portability, and everyday performance.
