The Sony FE 50mm F1.8 is a compact and versatile prime lens designed for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras. Its natural 50mm perspective makes it an excellent everyday choice for portraits, street photography, travel, lifestyle images and video, while the bright F1.8 maximum aperture supports shooting in lower-light conditions.

The wide aperture creates smooth background separation and attractive bokeh, helping subjects stand out with a professional, cinematic appearance. An aspherical lens element and updated double-gauss optical design help reduce spherical aberration and coma while maintaining clear detail across the frame.

Weighing only 186g, the lens is easy to carry and balances comfortably on compact Sony Alpha camera bodies. When mounted on an APS-C E-mount camera, it provides a 75mm-equivalent field of view that is particularly well suited to portraits and close subject framing.
